Final events 2019

Along this writing journey I’ve met new friends, some who have shared important advice. While I’m thankful and fortunate to have a job that pays for my life, even if it leaves me shorter on writing time than I’d like, it’s easy to feel as if I’m not doing enough to promote what I’ve published. It is now that I realize what good advice author Ted Schredd shared with me over coffee last summer. Simple and smart. He advised me: decide what it is I enjoy doing as related to sharing my writing and stories. Next: aim for setting up one event per month. As has happened, for a number of months that “one” has grown to more. But if it doesn’t, that’s okay too.

Here’s what I’ve got through 2019:

PORTLAND BOOK FESTIVAL
Sat., Nov. 9, all day, Portland Art Museum and surrounding area venues. Visit the Trade Show’s Willamette Writers Booth #64 to visit with local authors (like me from 9 AM – 9:30 AM) or learn about becoming a member. Learn more.
THE FALLS: STORIES FROM THE DAYS OF CANOES, MISSIONARIES, AND STEAMBOATS
Wed., Nov. 13, 2019 from 7-8 PM, Museum of the Oregon Territory, 211 Tumwater Drive, Oregon City. Free. See more.
OREGON HISTORICAL SOCIETY HOLIDAY CHEER
Sun., Dec. 8, 10 AM – 4 PM, 1200 SW Park Avenue, Portland. Pick up books from Oregon authors at this annual event, perfect for holiday gifts. See more.
JOLABOKAFLOD PDX 2019
Sat., Dec. 28, 2 – 5 PM, Nordia House, 8800 SW Oleson Road, Portland. Featuring local and indie authors and illustrators, entertainment, refreshments. Join this traditional Icelandic “Yule Book Flood.” See more.

Check out my Events page for more. Got an idea for me? I’d love to hear from you. While none of this solves or erases the challenges and worries of today, I hope you too find moments to do what most fills you and helps you best face the rest of it.
